As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Associate I have the privilege to work beside children, adolescents, and adults in difficult and often confusing times in their lives. My mission is to provide care and clarity for my clients while honoring their values in a way that can strengthen and improve their relationship not only with themselves but their family and friends as well.
I have a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M in Psychology and Sociology with an emphasis on the research aspect of medication and drug use/abuse, obesity and long-term illness effects on children and adolescents. I also have a Master’s of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University. My experience at Samaritan Center for Counseling and Pastoral Care has provided me with the opportunity to successfully work with clients of all ages and cultural backgrounds whom were struggling with varying life circumstances. Currently I see clients at a private practice located in North-Central Austin. The people I work with come from differing backgrounds and are facing a variety of difficulties that life has handed them.
While in school, I made a living as a nanny for children from infancy to pre-teen years. This opportunity gave me the practice to work well with families from a non-clinical stance. Through this experience I was able to form close, positive relationships with both children and parents and help guide all members of the family to a healthier way of life.
My focus of treatment is couples who are either working towards strengthening their relationship and/or families who are struggling with parenting issues. I also specialize in working with children and adolescents who are suffering from diminished self-esteem and confidence issues that often arise during this time of life.
